The new normal is to protect oneself and others against the COVID-19 virus. Following the sanitary regulations set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of Mauritius, Exotic Holiday Mauritius is strictly abiding to the hygienic measures established. Being aware of the changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, We are putting forth updated information pertaining to the COVID-19 situation in Mauritius.
LATEST UPDATES
Safety Protocols:
To curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus and its mutations, the Government of Mauritius has diligently exercised strict measures to contain the virus. The Prevention of Resurgence and Further Spread of Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulations 2020 (the “Sanitary Regulations”) came into force on 17 May 2020 by implanting the sanitary measures such as the use of masks, protective equipment and rules of social distancing in Mauritius. Breach of the regulations will result in heavy penalties and imprisonment.
It is highly recommended that usage of masks, sanitizers and social distancing are to be utilized and maintained accordingly.
Traveling to Mauritius from Southern Africa:
As of Friday 7 January 2022, commercial passenger flights from the Republic of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia to Mauritius are resumed. All sanitary measures linked to COVID-19 are to be respected and maintained accordingly.

The National COVID-19 Vaccination Committee in Mauritius has approved the following vaccines for those travelling to Mauritius:

QUARANTINE HOTELS
In light of the pandemic, hereby is a list of pre-approved hotels and accommodations that are offering services for travelers who are unvaccinated and wish to stay on the island:

KIDS POLICY
- Kids and infants must do a PCR Test 72 hours prior to travel and must be negative.
- An oropharyngeal swab will be performed on children aged 6 and above.
- Children under 18 years of age are spared vaccination but those above 5 years of age must wear masks covering nose and mouth in mandatory places.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travelers arriving to the island are required to fill in the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form at https://safemauritius.govmu.org. A printed copy for the Immigration Counter and a copy saved on their mobile device for checking at Health Border Control as well as their passport for the different checks at the Airport are needed. It is highly recommended to have additional copies of all documents for presentation at the various checks at the airport.
Note: The data collected from the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Digital Form, either online or on arrival at the SSR International Airport, Plaisance, is solely used for the purpose of screening infectious diseases, including COVID-19 public health surveillance. The legal basis for using and processing personal information is in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2017. Passengers’ personal data will be retained for a minimum period of 2 years or more depending on the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases. One year after this period, the passengers’ personal data will be destroyed.
VACCINATED TRAVELER
- It is required to be fully vaccinated for free movement on the island.
- It is mandatory to arrange COVID-19 insurance health cover (Mauritian citizens, resident permit holders and occupational permit holders are exempted)
- To enter Mauritius, one must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure.
- COVID-19 testing will be required upon arrival and on day 5 of the stay.
- Vaccinated travelers will be spared the antigen test at the airport but will have to do so upon arrival at the hotel and on day 5 of their stay which they will be charged as per the hotel policy.
- If staying at other accommodations or their homes then a free PCR test will be carried out at the airport and they will be required to do a self- administered antigen test on day 5.
- If one already had COVID-19, then must present an official documentation proving so as well as a post infection vaccination jab 14 days prior to travel (28 days for the Johnson & Johnson’s- Janssen vaccine)After the PCR Test at the airport,travelers can go to their accommodations as the Ministry of Health and Wellness will inform them of the PCR results within the 6-12 hours. After a negative test, free movement on the island is allowed.
UNVACCINATED TRAVELER
- Must show a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure.
- A 14-night quarantine stay in an official quarantine hotel, including meals and transfers must be booked.
- It is mandatory to arrange COVID-19 insurance health cover (Mauritian citizens, resident permit holders and occupational permit holders are exempted)
- Travelers are required to stay in the hotel room for 14 nights and meals will be delivered to the rooms.
- A PCR test on arrival, day 7 and day 14 of the stay will be done. It is to be taken into consideration that the cost for all three PCR tests will be Rs 12,000.
- After a negative PCR test on day 14, one can explore the island and move to any new accommodation.

YOU MATTER
Having the welfare of our staff and clients at heart, Exotic Holiday Mauritius went through the vaccination program set by the Government of Mauritius. The personnel are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 and are duly following the sanitary protocols. We maintains constant contact with the clients starting their arrival till their departure from the island.
At the airport, staff provide sanitizers to travelers while also seeing that vehicles are regularly disinfected.
In case, the traveler tests positive during their stay on the island, Exotic Holiday Mauritius will fully cooperate with the local authorities and also accompany the traveler to gain the required medical help.
